Happy Independence Day

To all my brother and sisters in arms..Thank you for all you do..As we remember the true meaning of the 4th of July,let us also remember the fallen and their families,they paid the ultimate price for us to be able to celebrate this day..Let's remember the ones before and also the present as we fight to free others and liberate them.For all the weak and oppressed you are defended by true heroes.....

Warrior.....

WarriorI never wore the uniform,no medals on my chest.The band it doesn�t play for me,I am not among �the Best.�I do not march in cadence,I do not rate salute,I stand among the silent ranks,our devotion absolute.If you�ve not worn my shoes,you do not know my story.I live a life of sacrifice,my reward a private glory.I�ve wept many silent nights away,and I�ve kept the home fires burning.I�ve worried and I�ve waited,as world events were churning.I�ve moved more times than you could fathom,left more people than you�ve known.I�ve planted gardens �round the world --Very few that I�ve seen grown.I�ve grieved with new-made widows,and had my share of scares --when a ship or plane or man was down,and all I had were prayers.I�m not asking for your sympathy,(although appreciation can be nice)I did it quite on purpose though --I chose to sacrifice.I�ll tell you a secret now,one you�d never guess.About the one glory that is mine,it�s just enough � no more, no less.When you and I stand togetheras our national anthem plays,I�ll fill with reminiscencesof how I spent those days.I�ll know the pain and joys again,I�ll know that freedom isn�t free,I�ll know I�ve helped to pay the price �and that the anthem plays for me.Elizabeth Soutter SchwarzerWife of a United States Marine

The Invisible Soldier.....

You can tell her by the twinkle in her eye, At parades when the flag marches by. She served our country and she served it very well. Some have even served a tour or two in Hell. She suffered hardship and never ceased to care. It gave us strength just to know that she was there. She was a leader, you could tell by the rank she wore, But she became the invisible soldier after the war. She can march, she can fly, and she can sail. She proved that bravery isn't exclusive of the male. She did every job she was asked and more, But she became the invisible soldier after the war. Now, it is finally time to right a wrong. When I Go To War when I go to war Mom, Please don't be afraid. There are some things I must do, To keep the promise that I made. I'm sure there will be some heartache, And I know that you'll cry tears, But your son is a Soldier now, Mom, There is nothing you should fear. when I to war Dad, I know that you'll be strong. But you won't have to worry, Cause you taught me right from wrong. You kept me firmly on the ground, yet still taught me how to fly. Your son is a Soldier now Dad, I love you Hooah, Even if I die. when I to war Bro, There are some things I want to say. You've always had my back, and I know it's my time to repay. You'll always be my daybreak, through all of life's dark clouds, Your brother is a Soldier now, Bro, I promise I'll make you proud. when I go to war Sis, don't you worry bout me, I always looked out for you, but I can't do that anymore, Cause I'm a big bro to all in America. It's the Soldier......

"It's the Soldier"By: Charles M. ProvinceA protest raged on a courthouse lawn, Round a makeshift stage they charged on, Fifteen hundred or more they say, Had come to burn a Flag that day. A boy held up the folded Flag, Cursed it, and called it a dirty rag. An OLD MAN pushed through the angry crowd, With a rusty shotgun shouldered proud. His uniform jacket was old and tight, He had polished each button, shiny and bright. He crossed that stage with a soldier's grace, Until he and the boy stood face to face. "FREEDOM OF SPEECH", the OLD MAN said, "Is worth dying for, good men are dead, So you can stand on this courthouse lawn, And talk us down from dusk to dawn, But before any Flag gets burned today, This OLD MAN IS GOING TO HAVE HIS SAY!! My father died on a foreign shore, In a war they said would end all war. But Tommy and I wasn't even full grown, Before we fought in a war of our own. And Tommy died on Iwo Jima's beach, In the shadow of a hill he couldn't quite reach Where five good men raised this Flag so high, That the WHOLE WORLD COULD SEE IT FLY. I got this bum leg that I still drag, Fighting for this same old Flag. Now there's but one shot in this old gun, So now it's time to decide which one, Which one of you will follow our lead, To stand and die for what you believe? For as sure as there is a rising sun, You'll burn before this Flag burns, son. Now this riot never came to pass. The crowd got quiet and that can of gas, Got set aside as they walked away To talk about what they had heard this day. And the boy who had called it a "dirty rag", Handed the OLD SOLDIER the folded Flag. So the battle of the Flag this day was won By a tired OLD SOLDIER with a rusty gun, Who for one last time, had to show to some, THIS FLAG MAY FADE, YET THESE COLORS DON'T RUN"It's the Soldier"By: Charles M. Silent Ranks.....

Silent Ranks I stand among the silent ranks That serves our country proud As you fight to set us free I shout my pride out loud. The many goodbyes we've had to say Have cut me very deep But I let my scars cover it all You fight for liberty while we sleep. Every day I fight my tears My weakness can't be shown My mind and heart are filled with fear But I represent you here at home. You fight for the ones here at home So my hero, we cheer you on You risk your life every day Until all the evil is gone. I stand among the silent ranks And I fly my flag up high You watch as they burn that flag For which you are willing to die. This is for all the serving troops And the families here at home Our soldiers are able to fight Because of all the support you've shown.

I am a Soldier too...

I Am A Soldier Too Please do not forget us, we are the ones that get left behind. While you sleep I am often awake filled with worry. As you start each day with your loved one, I start mine alone. And sometimes, I feel like I am a soldier. I didn't sign up to fight. I will have no parade held in my honor. Though I sacrifice each day, There are no medals no high awards But, sometimes, I feel like I am a soldier. I gave this country my best, I have fought the good fight. I am often called the spouse of a soldier. Yet, sometimes I feel like I am a soldier. Find a way to honor me for I have a part in your freedom too. I stand proud I look straight ahead. I will fight to the very end. Sometimes I feel like I am a soldier. Think of me when you think of our soldiers far away. When you wave the flag to honor our own wave it high for me. I am the family that is left behind. And I know that I am a soldier too.

A Daughter of A US Soldier I am the Daughter of A United States Soldier. The call has been made. I know freedom is not free. I know the price tag, And its more then I want to pay. I am the Daughter of a United States Soldier. I know fear. I know worry. I know pain. I am the Daughter of a United States Soldier. I am strong. My head will be held high. And I will not Forget a single loss of life. I am the Daughter of a United States Soldier. I listen to protests with pain in my eyes. I wonder if they know how many today will die. So they can go on telling there lies. I am the Daughter of a United States Soldier I know Honor. I know Love I know Pride, For I am the daughter of a United States Soldier!
